Jangmee Park
I believe in finding harmony between the conscious and the unconscious, both in my process and in the subject matter of my works. I want to convey the hope and joy of discovering something beautiful and new, along with the difficulty and hesitation that arises from having to decide which path to take.
My art contains a consistent set of visual elements, including Korean temple roofs and musical notes, as those are fond memories from my childhood and represent the unconscious past flowing into the present. The fulfillment that I derive from freely imagining and embracing my agency is an emotion solely expressed through my art.
