Brigitte Thériault
Born in Quebec City in 1974, Brigitte Thériault began photography at the age of 14. She deepened her technical skills at Cégep du Vieux-Montréal (1991-1994) and later at Concordia University, where she also explored filmmaking (1995-1996). From 1994 to 2007, Thériault exhibited her work in Montreal and Quebec City but mainly worked as a freelance photographer. Her curiosity led her to explore various fields such as fashion, design, performing arts, documentary, and advertising. Brigitte Thériault primarily works with a traditional 6x7 format camera. In 2008, she published the book PAPAS, a remarkable collection of photographs of fathers.
In a world saturated with images of all kinds, Brigitte Thériaults photographs offer a visual pause that invites contemplation. She enjoys presenting the simplest elements of nature with a sharp, alert eye, one that knows how to capture the secrets of landscapes down to their most hidden details.
